The EchoLogger ETF 400S is a single-beam 450 kHz echo sounder for drone bathymetry in acidic or chemically aggressive water, with every exposed part made of PTFE (Teflon). HobiTech supplies it in India as an Official Partner of SPH Engineering.

What is the EchoLogger ETF 400S used for?
The ETF 400S hangs below a drone on a harness and measures the water depth directly under the aircraft. It is the chemical-resistant member of the EchoLogger family. All externally exposed parts, including the cable, are made from PTFE (Teflon). SPH Engineering states that this makes it compatible with low-pH conditions around pH 2, and with even more aggressive acids at normal temperature.
It is built for bathymetry in aggressive fluids, where a standard sounder housing or cable could be damaged. Flying the sounder from a drone also keeps people and boats off the water. The sensor works on one frequency, 450 kHz, with a narrow 5° beam, from 0.15 m to 50 m. Accuracy is 0.2% of the measured depth, and range resolution is 1.0 mm. Built-in tilt/roll and temperature sensors are included.
