Drone buying, warranty and repair FAQs

Do you ship across India?

Yes. We ship genuine DJI drones to every Indian pincode by DTDC, with activation support. Orders dispatch within 3 days of confirmed payment, usually arrive 2 to 3 days after dispatch, and shipping is free.

Are the drones genuine, with warranty?

Every unit is sourced through official DJI channels, with a 1-year HobiTech warranty, serial-number registration and a Genuine invoice. We never sell grey-market stock. Browse our DJI drones.

What does the 1-year HobiTech warranty cover?

Manufacturing, motor, gimbal, electronic and battery faults on new drones. Remote controllers count as accessories and are not covered. Longer cover is available with our extended warranty and AMC plans, and claims go through the warranty claims page.

Can I return a drone if it arrives damaged or incomplete?

Yes. Report damaged or missing items within 48 hours of delivery with an unboxing video. The item must be unused and in its original packaging. HobiTech arranges the return pickup and pays the return shipping, and approved refunds go back to your original payment method. See our refund policy.

How long does a repair take?

Standard turnaround is about 72 hours from when the unit reaches our bench. Diagnostics are quicker; full overhauls can take up to a week. Pickup and insured return are arranged for you. Book through our drone repair page.

Do you offer a low price assurance?

Yes. Find the same genuine, warranty-backed DJI unit listed lower elsewhere in India and we'll match or better it. Share the listing when you enquire.

Can I sell or trade in my old drone?

Yes. We value used DJI drones for a cash payout or as trade-in credit towards a new one. See buy, sell and exchange.

Do I need a DGCA licence to fly?

Every drone must be registered on the eGCA portal with a Unique Identification Number (UIN) before it is flown (Drone Rules, 2021, Rule 14). Nano drones (up to 250 g) need no Remote Pilot Certificate, even for commercial use. Micro drones (250 g to 2 kg) need one only for commercial flying, and larger drones always do (Rule 36). Tell us your use case and we'll point you to exactly what's required.
