In India, drone gas surveys are used by city gas distribution and oil and gas pipeline operators, refineries and industrial sites running leak detection, municipal landfill and biogas operators, and environmental consultants measuring greenhouse gas emissions.

How to choose a drone methane detector

• Remote laser sensing: the Falcon Plus TDLAS detector measures methane along its laser beam at 10–40 m range, with a minimum detectable flow of 1 g/h, at 360 g. Best for screening long pipeline corridors and landfills fast.
• In-situ sniffing: the FluX Aero methane sniffer measures the air drawn into it, accurate down to 0.5 ppm at 2 Hz, and can produce quantified emission reports in g/hr. It is bundled with SkyHub.
• Other gases: FluX core sensors are listed for methane plus ethane and ammonia.
• Integration: the Falcon needs the SkyHub onboard computer, cables, mountings and the SkyHub methane detector package; see SkyHub software.

The Falcon Plus measures remotely along its laser beam, from 10–40 m away. The FluX Aero samples the air it flies through and suits emission quantification.

Which drones are supported?

FluX Aero is listed for many commercial drones, including the DJI M300, DJI M350 and Inspired Flight IF1200A. The Falcon Plus flies with SkyHub on a compatible drone.
