What is BeamworX Suite used for?
BeamworX Suite turns raw multibeam echo sounder data into a clean, calibrated depth point cloud. SPH Engineering recommends it for data from the EchoNIMBUS-MBES drone multibeam payload, which records a swath of depths across each flight line. The bundle runs for 1 year, in line with BeamworX's policy of making its software available on an annual subscription basis.

- AutoPatch: BeamworX calls it a fully automated multibeam patch test calculator. It uses full ray-tracing, fits multiple lines across the whole patch test area, removes sonar outliers automatically, and produces an extensive calibration report with one button click. It also handles refraction and sound velocity profile checks, and height fitting for non-RTK data. SPH Engineering notes it is fast and gives consistent, reproducible results.
- AutoClean: processes multibeam (MBES), single-beam (SBES) and LiDAR data with statistical, spline and spatial coherence filters, plus manual flagging in 2D slice and 3D views. It supports formats including GSF, Kongsberg ALL and KMALL, PDS, ASCII, LAS, LAZ and Hypack HS2/HS2X, compares against reference surfaces and exports grids. It can export only the changes back to the original source files.
- NavAQ: navigation and data acquisition for single- and multibeam echo sounders, laser scanners and side-scan sonar. SPH Engineering states that NavAQ is not compatible with its drone-based bathymetric payloads, but is useful if you also survey from a boat.
What do you need to run it?
- The EchoNIMBUS-MBES multibeam payload, or other multibeam data in a supported format.
- The SkyHub on-board computer, which logs the payload data on the drone.
- SPH's UgCS flight-planning software to fly the survey lines.
