The GPR Practical Exam & Certification from SPH Engineering checks your hands-on skill in collecting, processing and interpreting drone GPR data. Pass it to earn an SPH Engineering certificate. HobiTech coordinates enrolment in India.
How it works
- After successful payment, the exam is unlocked for your account in the Academy of SPH Engineering platform.
- Once enrolled, you can complete it at your own pace.
- After successfully passing, you receive a certificate from SPH Engineering that can be shared on LinkedIn.
What does the GPR practical exam test?
The exam verifies hands-on skills and experience in gathering, processing and understanding GPR data using systems provided by SPH Engineering. It is a practical assessment, not a theory quiz. SPH Engineering groups it around three core skills:
- Data collection with a GPR system
- Data processing
- Data interpretation and analysis
The exam is built around the drone GPR workflow used in SPH Engineering's Integrated Systems: a GPR antenna on a drone, the SkyHub GPR software package on the drone, and processing software such as GeoHammer Pro. You can read more about the method on SPH Engineering's GPR technology page.

The full exam listing is on the SPH Engineering Academy. SPH Engineering does not publish a pass mark or a number of tasks for this exam, so we do not state one here.
Who should take the GPR certification?
SPH Engineering lists three groups of candidates:
- People who have attended the GPR-1, GPR-2 or GPR-3 courses
- Self-taught operators who already know GPR
- Experienced surveyors who want their expertise verified
After a course such as GPR-3, SPH Engineering says students may apply for a certificate of accomplishment for completing it. The practical exam is different: it looks at your own data collection, processing and interpretation work and ends in an SPH Engineering certificate for passing. It is open to course graduates and to anyone else with the skills.
If you need to build skills first, take GPR on a UAV (GPR-1), GPR Basics (GPR-2) and the GPR Advanced Module (GPR-3). For the hardware side, see our drone GPR systems.
Why enrol through HobiTech?
