A spare mounting clip from SPH Engineering, used with most SPH mountings for SkyHub, altimeters and drone sensors. Keep one in the field kit for quick repairs. HobiTech supplies it in India as an authorised SPH partner.

Product details

Manufacturer SPH Engineering
Use Used with most SPH Engineering mountings
Quantity 1 clip

What is the spare clip used for?

SPH Engineering builds its Integrated Systems from separate parts: a drone, the SkyHub onboard computer, a sensor, an altimeter for terrain following, and a set of mountings that hold each part on the drone. SPH states that this clip is used with most of those mountings. It is sold on its own so you can replace one that is lost, worn or damaged without buying a whole new mounting kit.

Clips are small parts that get handled every time a sensor goes on or comes off the aircraft. A missing clip can stop a survey day, so it makes sense to keep one or two spares with the drone, the batteries and the tool kit, especially on remote sites, where a replacement part cannot be picked up the same day.

Which mountings is it used with?

SPH Engineering describes the clip as fitting "most of the mountings" and does not publish a full list. The SPH mountings HobiTech carries are listed below. If you are not sure whether your mount uses this clip, send us a photo of the mount or its part number and we will check with SPH before you order.

SPH mounting Holds Drones listed by SPH
SkyHub mountings SkyHub onboard computer DJI M350 RTK, DJI M300 RTK, and drones with the same leg diameter such as Inspired Flight IF800
Laser altimeter mount LightWare SF30/D altimeter DJI M350 RTK, DJI M300 RTK
Radar altimeter mount Ainstein US-D1 altimeter DJI M300 RTK, DJI M350 RTK
Laser Falcon mountings Laser Falcon methane detector Fixes the detector on the leg of a DJI drone
MagDrone R3 mountings SENSYS MagDrone R3 sensor bar DJI M400, DJI M350 RTK, DJI M300 RTK

What does the full SPH system need?

The clip is a spare part, not a complete mount. A working SPH Integrated System usually combines:

  • A supported drone. SPH lists the DJI M400, M350 RTK and M300 RTK, plus Pixhawk and Cube-based drones such as the Inspired Flight IF1200A and IF800.
  • The SkyHub onboard computer and its mounting.
  • A sensor: ground penetrating radar, magnetometer, echo sounder, methane detector and others. Browse the Integrated Systems range.
  • The SkyHub True Terrain Following package with a laser or radar altimeter. SPH gives a minimum flight height of 0.5 m above ground with TTF.
  • A UgCS licence for flight planning, such as UgCS EXPERT.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the SPH spare clip for?

It is a replacement clip for SPH Engineering mountings. SPH states it is used with most of its mountings, for SkyHub, altimeters and sensors.

Does the clip fit every SPH mounting?

SPH says "most", not all, and does not publish a full list. Send HobiTech a photo or part number of your mount and we will confirm before you order.

How many clips come in one order?

One clip per unit. Order as many as you want to keep in your field kit.

Does the clip come with a mounting?

No. It is a spare part only. Complete mountings, such as the SkyHub mountings for DJI M300/M350 RTK, are sold separately.

Why keep a spare clip?

Clips are handled every time a sensor is fitted or removed. A spare lets you keep flying if one is lost or damaged on site.

How do I buy the spare clip in India?
