  • 99 Wh Li-Ion battery + Wi-Fi router in case
  • Charger
  • Tow rope
  • Mounting kit for DJI M300/M350 RTK

What is the Zond Aero 1000 NG used for?

The Zond Aero 1000 NG is the highest-frequency model in SPH Engineering's drone GPR line-up. SPH describes it as offering the best possible resolution and the ability to detect small targets. It suits snow and ice profiling and finding small objects a few tens of centimetres below the surface.

  • Depth: up to 1 m from the ground in average normal soil, and up to 0.5 m with the antenna 0.5 m above the ground. SPH quotes 0.3 to 0.5 m penetration when flown from a drone.
  • Flying height: SPH recommends 1 m or less for 1000 MHz.
  • Data: 256 to 8192 selectable samples per scan and up to 1,280,000 samples/second, depending on hardware stacking.
  • Ground surveys: use a GPR cart or tow rope. The case holds a 99 Wh Li-Ion battery with up to 12 hours of operating time, plus a Wi-Fi router.

How does it integrate with SkyHub, UgCS and your drone?

On the drone, the GPR connects to the SkyHub on-board computer, which logs each trace with GNSS and altimeter readings so it is time-stamped and geo-referenced. The SkyHub software package for GPR supports Radar Systems Zond Aero and adds a companion application for UgCS, where you plan and fly the mission. At a flying height of 1 m or less, steady terrain following matters; UgCS EXPERT adds Smart AGL. The kit includes a mount for the DJI M300/M350 RTK, and mounts for other drones are available on request.

What do you need to run it?

SPH Engineering notes that extra components and software are needed for drone use:

For deeper targets, compare the Zond Aero 600 NG or the Zond Aero LF in our ground penetrating radar range, or read SPH Engineering's GPR technology page.

Why buy the Zond Aero 1000 NG from HobiTech?

HobiTech is an authorised SPH Engineering partner based in Bengaluru, India. Every order comes with a GST invoice, and our local team supports the sensor, the drone and the software. SPH's GPR training courses are also available through HobiTech.

Frequently Asked Questions

How deep can the Zond Aero 1000 NG see?

Up to 1 m in average normal soil, and up to 0.5 m with the antenna 0.5 m above the ground. It is built for resolution, not depth.

When should I choose 1000 MHz over 500 or 600 MHz?

Choose 1000 MHz for small, shallow targets where resolution matters most. For targets down to about 4 m, the 500 NG or 600 NG is the better fit.

How much does it weigh?

1.8 kg in the airborne configuration, and 7.0 kg in its protective case.

Can I use it without a drone?

Yes. It can be used on a cart or a tow rope, powered by the 99 Wh case battery for up to 12 hours.

What data format does it record?

Standard geophysical SEG-Y (.sgy) with geotagging.

How do I buy the Zond Aero 1000 NG in India?

Use Request a quote on this page, or call HobiTech on +91 70225 26509. We confirm the price and configuration, and every order comes with a GST invoice.
