A 3D-printed plastic mount that fixes a Nanoradar NRA24 radar altimeter to a DJI M300 RTK or M350 RTK drone for SkyHub True Terrain Following. HobiTech supplies it in India as an authorised SPH Engineering partner.

For drone DJI M300 RTK, DJI M350 RTK
NRA24 max range (SkyHub user manual) 50 m

What is the NRA24 mount used for?

True Terrain Following (TTF) keeps a drone at a steady height above the ground or water, using live readings from an altimeter on the drone. SPH Engineering states SkyHub TTF works as low as 0.5 m above ground. It matters for low-flying survey sensors such as ground penetrating radar and magnetometers, where the distance between sensor and surface must stay constant.

The Nanoradar NRA24 is one of the altimeters SPH Engineering supports for this. The SkyHub user manual lists it as a radar altimeter with a 50 m maximum range and a UART interface, powered from SkyHub. This mount holds the NRA24 on the airframe of a DJI M300 RTK or M350 RTK so it can measure height above the surface below.

One point to know: the manual states the NRA24 does not detect a ground reflection while there is no motion, so it starts measuring only after take-off. SPH advises moving the drone by hand before a flight to check the altimeter works.

Which altimeter mount do I need?

Your altimeter Type Max range (SkyHub user manual) Mount to order Mount build
Nanoradar NRA24 24 GHz radar 50 m NRA24 mount for M300/M350 RTK 3D-printed plastic
Ainstein US-D1 24 GHz radar 50 m (0.5 m minimum) US-D1 mount for M300/M350 RTK 3D-printed plastic
LightWare SF30/D Laser 200 m Laser altimeter mount for M300/M350 RTK 3D-printed plastic

All three mounts are made for the DJI M300 RTK and M350 RTK. Each one fits only the altimeter named on it, so match the mount to the altimeter you fly.

HobiTech does not sell the NRA24 altimeter itself. If you are choosing a new altimeter, compare the US-D1 radar and SF30/D laser kits.

What else do you need for True Terrain Following?

  • SkyHub on-board computer: SPH Engineering ships it with mountings and cables for the DJI M300/M350 RTK by default.
  • SkyHub True Terrain Following package: the software that holds height from live altimeter readings.
  • An altimeter: the Ainstein US-D1 radar, the Nanoradar NRA24 radar or the LightWare SF30/D laser. The SkyHub user manual lists all three with a UART interface, powered from SkyHub.
  • A mount for that altimeter, such as this one.
  • UgCS: the SkyHub user manual asks for UgCS 5.3.0 or higher, for example UgCS EXPERT.

A protective box for SkyHub and the TTF kit is available for transport. See the full range in Integrated Systems.

Why buy the NRA24 mount from HobiTech?

HobiTech is an authorised SPH Engineering partner based in Bengaluru, India. Every order comes with a GST invoice, and our local team supports the sensor, the drone and the software together. SPH training is available too, including the UgCS Area Scan and True Terrain Following course.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the NRA24 mount hold?

It fixes a Nanoradar NRA24 radar altimeter to a DJI M300 RTK or M350 RTK drone.

Does HobiTech sell the NRA24 altimeter?

This page is for the mount only. HobiTech sells the Ainstein US-D1 radar and LightWare SF30/D laser altimeters, each with its own mount.

Why does the NRA24 show no reading on the ground?

SPH's manual states it detects no ground reflection without motion, so it measures only after take-off. Move the drone by hand before flight to check it.

Can I use a 24 GHz radar altimeter in India?

SPH Engineering states it is the customer's responsibility to check whether a 24 GHz altimeter may be used in their country. Check before you fly.

Will this mount fit the US-D1 or SF30/D?

No. Use the US-D1 mount or the laser altimeter mount listed above.

How do I buy the NRA24 radar altimeter mount for DJI M300/M350 RTK in India?

Use Request a quote on this page, or call HobiTech on +91 70225 26509. We confirm the price and configuration, and every order comes with a GST invoice.
