What is the MS-1000 used for?
The MS-1000 analyses potassium (40K), uranium (238U), thorium (232Th) and caesium (137Cs) online, during the survey.
Medusa Radiometrics designed the MS-1000 for drone deployment. It is an all-in-one sensor with a spectrometer, GNSS, and pressure, temperature and humidity sensors. The onboard mDOS software gives real-time analysis and onboard storage. Medusa also notes it can be used on a quadcopter or as a handheld system.
SPH Engineering offers the MS-700 and MS-1000 as the higher-sensitivity options in the Medusa range, for demanding targets where signal-to-noise is critical.
MS-350, MS-700 or MS-1000?
| Model | CsI crystal | Weight | Mapping speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| MS-350 | 350 ml | 2.7 kg | Up to 15 km/h |
| MS-700 | 700 ml | 4.7 kg | Up to 20 km/h |
| MS-1000 | 1000 ml | 6.7 kg | Up to 30 km/h |
The MS-1000 has the largest crystal and the highest mapping speed of the three. Medusa lists it for drone-borne use; the MS-350 and MS-700 are listed for both handheld and drone-borne use. For the smallest Medusa sensor, see the MS-100.
What it works with
- SPH Engineering integrates Medusa sensors with UgCS flight planning and the SkyHub onboard computer, which gives real-time monitoring during the flight.
- Medusa GammAn post-processing software carries out full spectrum analysis (FSA).
- For radiometric survey skills, see our SPH Engineering training options.
Why buy the MS-1000 from HobiTech?
HobiTech is an Official Partner of SPH Engineering based in Bengaluru, India. Every order comes with a GST invoice, and our local team supports the sensor, the drone and the software.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the MS-1000 be used by hand?
Medusa Radiometrics designed the MS-1000 mainly for drones. It notes the system can also be deployed on a quadcopter or used as a handheld system.
Which radionuclides does the MS-1000 analyse?
