Trainer-led Metal Detector Data Processing and Interpretation is SPH Engineering's live course for teams flying a metal detector on a drone: what the data contains and how to process and interpret it in GeoHammer Pro or Seequent Oasis montaj. HobiTech coordinates enrolment in India.
Training outline
- What an EMI metal detector is
- Metal detector data structure
- Basic metal detector data processing and interpretation in GeoHammer Pro or Seequent Oasis montaj
What does the trainer-led metal detector course cover?
This is a live course with an SPH Engineering trainer, dedicated to metal detectors flown on drones. According to the SPH Engineering course listing, it covers how an electromagnetic induction (EMI) metal detector works, how its data is structured, and basic processing and interpretation of that data in GeoHammer Pro or Seequent Oasis montaj.
SPH states that the course lasts up to 4 hours and is priced for a group of up to 4 students. It can be held at the SPH Engineering office or by video conference.
Who is it for, and what do you need before you start?
The course is for users of SPH Engineering's Integrated Systems with a metal detector who already have at least basic UgCS experience. SPH sets two conditions:
- You have completed the trainer-led UgCS Area Scan & True Terrain Following course, or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
- You fly a True Terrain Following test mission over the ground in a safe, controlled environment before the session. The trainer reviews the telemetry and SkyHub positioning logs remotely at the start, and if you cannot show completed missions, the session is cancelled and has to be rescheduled.
The UgCS courses are listed on our UgCS training page. To confirm your skills formally, SPH offers the Practical Exam & Certification - Data Collection, Processing, and Interpretation.
What hardware and software does the course relate to?
SPH Engineering's drone metal detection system combines the detector, the SkyHub onboard computer and UgCS flight planning. Related products in our store:
- The Ebinger VEMOS AIR Mk2 metal detector and the full metal detector range
- The SkyHub software package for Metal detector
- GeoHammer Pro and Seequent Oasis montaj for processing
