The DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI RC 2) is the DJI Mini 5 Pro camera drone with the DJI RC 2 screen controller, three Intelligent Flight Battery Plus packs, an ND filter set (ND8/32/128), a Two-Way Charging Hub and a shoulder bag. The Mini 5 Pro has a 1-inch 50 MP sensor, 4K/60fps video with 4K/120fps slow motion, 10-bit D-Log M and HLG, omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward-facing LiDAR, and 42 GB of built-in storage. With the Battery Plus, DJI rates it at up to 52 minutes per battery. The Battery Plus is heavier than the standard battery, so as sold this kit is a micro drone in India, not a nano drone. Sold by HobiTech, a genuine DJI dealer in Bengaluru, with a GST invoice and HobiTech's own 1-year warranty on the drone.

Key features

  • 1-inch 50 MP sensor: larger than the 1/1.3-inch sensor in the Mini 4 Pro, with an f/1.8 lens, for cleaner shots at dawn, dusk and night.
  • 4K/60fps and 4K/120fps slow motion: with 10-bit D-Log M and HLG for more room to grade.
  • Rotating 3-axis gimbal: a 225° roll range for true vertical shots and rolling camera moves, per DJI.
  • Omnidirectional sensing with forward LiDAR: vision sensors in every direction work down to 1 lux, and the LiDAR measures up to 25 m at night.
  • Up to 52 minutes per battery: three Battery Plus packs in the box, so up to about 156 minutes of flying per outing, per DJI's rating.
  • Up to 32 km flight distance: per battery with the Battery Plus, against 21 km with the standard battery, per DJI.

Figures per DJI; prices from HobiTech. Both kits have the DJI RC 2, ND filters, charging hub and bag. Choose this Plus kit if the extra 16 minutes per flight matters more; choose the standard Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2) to stay in the nano class and save ₹7,000.

Who the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus is for

  • Photographers and filmmakers who want 1-inch image quality in a Mini-sized drone
  • Travel and landscape shooters who want the longest flights from a Mini 5 Pro, at dawn, dusk and night
  • Creators who grade their footage in D-Log M or post vertical video
  • Pilots who want omnidirectional obstacle sensing plus forward LiDAR for low light

Choose something else if you want to stay in India's nano class (the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)), a lower price with a 1/1.3-inch sensor (the Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)), or 42 GB storage and LiDAR for less (the Lito X1 Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)).

Is it legal to fly in India?

Yes, with the right paperwork. DJI lists the Mini 5 Pro at 249.9 g (±4 g) with the standard battery, and the Battery Plus in this kit is about 46 g heavier (about 117 g against about 71.2 g, per DJI). As sold, it is over India's 250 g nano limit, so under the Drone Rules, 2021 treat it as a micro drone (more than 250 g, up to 2 kg):

  • You must register it on the DGCA eGCA portal and get a Unique Identification Number (UIN) before flying.
  • No Remote Pilot Certificate is needed for non-commercial use of a micro drone. For commercial work, you need one.
  • Third-party insurance is required for drones heavier than the nano class.
  • Before each flight, check the Digital Sky airspace map for green, yellow and red zones.

Rules can change, so check DGCA's eGCA portal and the airspace map before you fly.

Flying tips for the DJI Mini 5 Pro

HobiTech's tips for your first flights (general good practice; always follow the DJI user manual):

  • Charge all three the night before. Put the batteries in the Two-Way Charging Hub and charge the DJI RC 2 too, so everything is full when you head out.
  • Use the ND filters in bright light. ND8, ND32 or ND128 let you keep a slower shutter for natural motion blur in video.
  • Plan for real-world flight time. DJI's maximum with the Battery Plus is 52 minutes, but its typical real-world figure is about 33 minutes, so plan shots accordingly.
  • Update and calibrate in DJI Fly. Update the drone and controller firmware at home, and calibrate the compass if the app asks.
  • Wait for a strong GPS signal. Check the signal before take-off, so Return to Home knows where to come back to.
  • Keep obstacle sensing on, but do not rely on it. LiDAR helps at night, but thin wires and branches are still hard to detect, so fly slowly and keep the drone in sight.
  • Check the wind. DJI rates wind resistance up to 12 m/s. On gusty days, stay low and close, and land early.
  • Register and insure before you fly. With the Battery Plus this is a micro drone, so get the UIN on DGCA's eGCA portal and arrange third-party insurance before your first outdoor flight.
  • Check the propellers every time. Replace any propeller that is chipped, bent or cracked. Three spare pairs come in the box.
  • Let batteries cool before charging. After a flight, wait until the battery is no longer warm before you put it in the hub.

What's included in the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus (DJI RC 2)?

Per DJI: the DJI Mini 5 Pro, the DJI RC 2, three Intelligent Flight Battery Plus packs, an ND filter set (ND8/32/128), a Two-Way Charging Hub, a storage cover, three pairs of spare propellers, a shoulder bag and a USB-C data cable. A charger is not included.

Is the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus under 250 g?

No. DJI lists the Mini 5 Pro at 249.9 g (±4 g) with the standard battery. The Battery Plus in this kit weighs about 117 g against about 71.2 g for the standard battery, so as sold it is over 250 g.

Plus or standard Fly More Combo?

Both have the DJI RC 2, ND filters, hub and bag. The standard combo (₹1,32,990 plus GST) has standard batteries (36 min, nano class at 250 g or less). The Combo Plus (₹1,39,990 plus GST) has Battery Plus packs (52 min, micro class).

Do I need a licence or registration to fly it in India?

With the Battery Plus it is a micro drone. You must register it on DGCA's eGCA portal and get a UIN, and third-party insurance is required. A Remote Pilot Certificate is not needed for non-commercial flying, but it is for commercial work.

How long does the DJI Mini 5 Pro fly with the Battery Plus?

Up to 52 minutes per battery, per DJI, so up to about 156 minutes with the three in this combo. DJI's typical real-world figure is about 33 minutes per battery.

Does it have internal storage?

Yes, 42 GB built in, per DJI, plus a microSD card slot for longer shoots.

What does the forward LiDAR do?

It measures distance with a laser rather than a camera, so the drone can still sense obstacles ahead at night. DJI rates it at 0.5–25 m at night.

Can it handle wind?

DJI rates the Mini 5 Pro for wind up to 12 m/s. It is still a light drone, so treat coastal and ridge conditions with respect.

Are ND filters included?

Yes, an ND8/32/128 filter set is in the box.

Is the 1-inch sensor worth the upgrade from the Mini 4 Pro?

If you shoot in difficult light, such as dawn, dusk or interiors, or you grade your footage, it is the main reason to choose the Mini 5 Pro. In good daylight the Mini 4 Pro (1/1.3-inch sensor) gets you most of the way for less.

What warranty does HobiTech give?

A 1-Year Premium Warranty from HobiTech, included free, on the DJI Mini 5 Pro drone. It does not cover accessories (including the DJI RC 2, charging hub and bag) or accidental damage, which our repair lab can still fix. Claims go through our warranty form or +91 70225 26509.
