Who the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo is for
- Photographers and filmmakers who want 1-inch image quality in a Mini-sized drone
- Travel and landscape shooters who fly at dawn, dusk and night
- Creators who grade their footage in D-Log M or post vertical video
- Pilots who want omnidirectional obstacle sensing plus forward LiDAR for low light
Choose something else if you want the longest flights (the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus), a lower price with a 1/1.3-inch sensor (the Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)), or 42 GB storage and LiDAR for less (the Lito X1 Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)).
Is it legal to fly in India?
Yes. Under India's Drone Rules, 2021, a drone of 250 g or less is a nano drone. DJI lists the Mini 5 Pro at 249.9 g with the standard battery, but notes a tolerance of ±4 g between units, so an individual drone can weigh slightly more than 250 g.
- You must register it on the DGCA eGCA portal and get a Unique Identification Number (UIN) before flying (Rule 14).
- At 250 g or less (nano): no Remote Pilot Certificate is needed (Rule 36).
- Over 250 g (micro): no Remote Pilot Certificate is needed for non-commercial use, but third-party insurance is required, and commercial work needs a certificate.
- Before each flight, check the Digital Sky airspace map for green, yellow and red zones.
We recommend weighing your drone with the battery and propellers fitted when you register it. Rules can change, so check DGCA's eGCA portal and the airspace map before you fly.
Flying tips for the DJI Mini 5 Pro
HobiTech's tips for your first flights (general good practice; always follow the DJI user manual):
- Charge all three the night before. Put the batteries in the Two-Way Charging Hub and charge the DJI RC 2 too, so everything is full when you head out.
- Use the ND filters in bright light. ND8, ND32 or ND128 let you keep a slower shutter for natural motion blur in video.
- Plan for real-world flight time. DJI's maximum is 36 minutes, but its typical real-world figure is about 21 minutes, so plan shots accordingly.
- Update and calibrate in DJI Fly. Update the drone and controller firmware at home, and calibrate the compass if the app asks.
- Wait for a strong GPS signal. Check the signal before take-off, so Return to Home knows where to come back to.
- Keep obstacle sensing on, but do not rely on it. LiDAR helps at night, but thin wires and branches are still hard to detect, so fly slowly and keep the drone in sight.
- Check the wind. DJI rates wind resistance up to 12 m/s. On gusty days, stay low and close, and land early.
- Register before you fly. Get the UIN on DGCA's eGCA portal before your first outdoor flight, and check the airspace map every time you fly somewhere new.
- Check the propellers every time. Replace any propeller that is chipped, bent or cracked. Three spare pairs come in the box.
- Let batteries cool before charging. After a flight, wait until the battery is no longer warm before you put it in the hub.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo in India?
At HobiTech it is ₹1,32,990 plus GST, with a GST invoice. It includes the DJI RC 2 screen controller, three batteries, ND8/32/128 filters, a Two-Way Charging Hub and a shoulder bag.
What's included in the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)?
Per DJI: the DJI Mini 5 Pro, the DJI RC 2, three Intelligent Flight Batteries, an ND filter set (ND8/32/128), a Two-Way Charging Hub, a storage cover, three pairs of spare propellers, a shoulder bag and a USB-C data cable. A charger is not included.
Does this combo include Battery Plus packs?
No. This kit has three standard batteries (up to 36 minutes each). The Fly More Combo Plus (DJI RC 2) has three Battery Plus packs (up to 52 minutes each) for ₹1,39,990 plus GST.
Do I need a licence or registration to fly the DJI Mini 5 Pro in India?
You must register it on DGCA's eGCA portal and get a UIN. DJI lists it at 249.9 g (±4 g). At 250 g or less it is a nano drone and needs no Remote Pilot Certificate; if your unit weighs more, it counts as a micro drone, which also needs third-party insurance.
How long does the DJI Mini 5 Pro fly?
Up to 36 minutes per standard battery, per DJI, so up to about 108 minutes with the three in this combo. DJI's typical real-world figure is about 21 minutes per battery.
Does it have internal storage?
Yes, 42 GB built in, per DJI, plus a microSD card slot for longer shoots.
What does the forward LiDAR do?
It measures distance with a laser rather than a camera, so the drone can still sense obstacles ahead at night. DJI rates it at 0.5–25 m at night.
Can it handle wind?
DJI rates the Mini 5 Pro for wind up to 12 m/s. It is still a light drone, so treat coastal and ridge conditions with respect.
Are ND filters included?
Yes, an ND8/32/128 filter set is in the box.
Is the 1-inch sensor worth the upgrade from the Mini 4 Pro?
If you shoot in difficult light, such as dawn, dusk or interiors, or you grade your footage, it is the main reason to choose the Mini 5 Pro. In good daylight the Mini 4 Pro (1/1.3-inch sensor) gets you most of the way for less.
Does the DJI RC 2 have a screen?
Yes. Per DJI, it has a built-in 5.5-inch 1920×1080 FHD screen with 700 nits brightness, so you do not need your phone to fly.
What warranty does HobiTech give?
A 1-Year Premium Warranty from HobiTech, included free, on the DJI Mini 5 Pro drone. It does not cover accessories (including the DJI RC 2, charging hub and bag) or accidental damage, which our repair lab can still fix. Claims go through our warranty form or +91 70225 26509.
