DJI Mini 4K Fly More Combo

₹67,990₹79,999

Under-249 g 4K starter drone — 3-axis gimbal, 31-min flight, 10km DJI O2 transmission and QuickShots. Three batteries in the box.

DJI Mini 4K vs DJI Mini 3

The two entry points into the Mini range. Both sit under 249 g, both shoot 4K, both use O2 transmission and downward-only sensing. What separates them is the sensor and the controller.

The Mini 4K is the least expensive way into a genuinely capable 4K drone, and for daylight flying the gap to the Mini 3 is smaller than the price difference suggests. Same transmission, same wind rating, same regulatory category, three batteries in both boxes.

The ₹13,000 buys you a larger sensor at a brighter aperture, HDR, seven more minutes per battery, true vertical framing and a controller you do not have to mount a phone on. If you shoot in the hour after sunrise or before sunset — when the light is actually good — the sensor difference is the one you will notice.

If this is your first drone and you are not sure how much you will fly it, start with the Mini 4K. It is the lowest-risk entry into the hobby that still produces footage worth keeping.

Flying the DJI Mini 4K legally in India

At under 249 g takeoff weight, the Mini 4K falls into DGCA’s Nano category (drones under 250 g) under the Drone Rules, 2021.

Nano drones flown for personal, non-commercial use are exempt from UIN registration on eGCA and do not require a Remote Pilot Certificate — the lightest regulatory category India offers, and a large part of why sub-250 g drones make sensible first purchases. Commercial flying removes those exemptions.

Registration exemption is not airspace exemption. Green, yellow and red zones still apply: roughly 90% of the country is green with no restrictions, yellow zones near airports need coordination, and red zones are prohibited. Check the DigitalSky app for your location before you fly.

Keep the drone within visual line of sight, do not fly over crowds, and stay clear of airports, military installations and international borders.

About the DJI Mini 4K

A sensible first drone

Under 249 g means no registration for personal flying, and that removes the single biggest barrier to getting started in India. Add a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, GPS position hold and automatic return-to-home, and this is a drone that forgives the mistakes every new pilot makes.

What 4K on a 1/2.3" sensor means

In good light it produces clean, sharp, genuinely usable 4K/30 footage. In poor light it struggles more than the larger-sensor Minis do — that is the honest trade at this price. Fly it in daylight and you will be pleased; fly it at dusk and you will see its limits.

Thirty-one minutes, three batteries

31 minutes per battery and three in the box, so roughly 93 minutes of flying. For a first drone that is generous — enough to properly learn the sticks in a single session.

Ten kilometres of transmission

DJI O2 gives a 10 km range with a stable HD feed. You will never legally fly to that distance, since visual line of sight is required, but the headroom is what makes the video link solid at the ranges you do fly.

The controller uses your phone

The RC-N1C holds your phone as the screen. It works well and keeps the price down, but it does mean mounting your phone before every flight and watching its battery drain. The Mini 3 and above ship with a screen built in.

What’s in the Fly More Combo

Mini 4K aircraft, RC-N1C controller, three Intelligent Flight Batteries, two-way charging hub, shoulder bag, two pairs of spare propellers, propeller holder, USB-C cable and screwdriver. There is no internal storage, so buy a microSD card at the same time.

More questions about the DJI Mini 4K

What is the price of the DJI Mini 4K in India?

The Fly More Combo is ₹61,990 at Hobitech, down from ₹67,999. GST invoice and warranty included.

Do I need to register the DJI Mini 4K with DGCA?

Not for personal use. Under 249 g it is a Nano-category drone, exempt from UIN registration and from needing a Remote Pilot Certificate. Commercial flying is different.

Is the Mini 4K good for beginners?

It is one of the best first drones available. No registration for personal flying, GPS hold, return-to-home and three batteries to practise with. The low price also makes the inevitable first scrape less painful.

How is it different from the Mini 3?

The Mini 3 has a larger 1/1.3" sensor at f/1.7 instead of 1/2.3" at f/2.8, adds HDR and true vertical shooting, flies 38 minutes instead of 31, and includes a controller with its own screen. It costs ₹13,000 more.

Does it have obstacle avoidance?

Downward vision and infrared only, used for landing and position hold. There is no forward or sideways sensing at this price point.

Does it need a memory card?

Yes. There is no internal storage, so a microSD card is essential from the first flight.

How long does it fly?

31 minutes per battery, three batteries included — around 93 minutes in total.

Can it fly in wind?

Level 5, about 10.7 m/s. Fine for ordinary conditions, but any sub-249 g drone is affected by gusts more than a heavier aircraft.
