The DJI Avata 360 Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2) is DJI's 360° camera drone with the DJI RC 2 screen controller, three Intelligent Flight Batteries, a Charging Hub, a sling bag and a foldable landing pad. It films 8K/60fps 360° video with two 1/1.1-inch 64 MP sensors, which DJI calls "1-inch" imaging, so you can fly once and choose your framing afterwards. It can also shoot as a normal single-lens drone at up to 4K/60fps. It has integrated propeller guards, omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward LiDAR, 42 GB of built-in storage and up to 23 minutes of flight per battery, per DJI. At about 455 g it is a micro drone in India. Sold by HobiTech, a genuine DJI dealer in Bengaluru, with a GST invoice and HobiTech's own 1-year warranty on the drone.
Key features
- 8K/60fps 360° video: two 1/1.1-inch square sensors, 64 MP each, with D-Log M colour and HDR video, per DJI.
- Reframe after the flight: the 360° virtual gimbal lets you pick the angle, roll and framing in editing, so one pass gives you many shots.
- Single-lens mode: shoot normal 4K/60fps video when you do not need the sphere, with no reframing step.
- 120 MP 360° photos: up to 15520×7760 in JPEG or DNG (RAW).
- Integrated propeller guards: for flying close to people and structures.
- Omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward LiDAR: vision sensing in every direction that works down to 1 lux, per DJI.
- DJI RC 2 with a built-in screen: a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 FHD screen with 700 nits brightness, per DJI.
- DJI O4+ transmission: up to 20 km (FCC, unobstructed and free of interference).
- Up to 23 minutes per battery: three batteries in the box, so up to about 69 minutes per outing.
- 42 GB built in: plus a microSD slot, and Wi-Fi 6 transfers at up to 100 MB/s.

Who the Avata 360 Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2) is for
- Creators who want to capture everything in one flight and choose the framing later
- Travel and adventure filmmakers who want dramatic tiny-planet and follow shots
- Pilots who prefer a screen controller to goggles, but want propeller guards and omnidirectional sensing
Choose something else if you want to fly first-person through goggles (the Avata 360 Motion Fly More Combo or the Avata 2 Fly More Combo), or you want a lighter nano-class drone with a conventional camera (the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo).
Is it legal to fly in India?
Yes, with the right paperwork. At about 455 g (per DJI), the DJI Avata 360 is a micro drone (more than 250 g, up to 2 kg) under India's Drone Rules, 2021:
- You must register it on the DGCA eGCA portal and get a Unique Identification Number (UIN) before flying.
- No Remote Pilot Certificate is needed for non-commercial use of a micro drone. For commercial work, you need one.
- Third-party insurance is required for drones heavier than the nano class.
- Before each flight, check the Digital Sky airspace map for green, yellow and red zones.
Rules can change, so check DGCA's eGCA portal and the airspace map before you fly.
Flying tips for the DJI Avata 360
HobiTech's tips for your first flights (general good practice; always follow the DJI user manual):
- Use the landing pad. It keeps dust and grass away from the two lenses on take-off and landing.
- Keep both lenses clean. A smudge on either lens shows up in the stitched 360° image, so wipe them with the cloth before each flight.
- Choose 360° or single-lens before you fly. Use 360° when you want to reframe later; use single-lens when you want a finished clip straight away.
- Plan for the editing step. 360° footage needs reframing in editing software before it becomes a normal video.
- Charge all three the night before. Use a charger of 65 W or more so the hub can charge batteries in parallel.
- Update everything in DJI Fly. Update the drone and RC 2 firmware at home before your first flight.
- Keep obstacle sensing on, but do not rely on it. Thin wires and branches are still hard to detect, so fly slowly near them.
- Register and insure before you fly. This is a micro drone, so get the UIN on DGCA's eGCA portal and arrange third-party insurance before your first outdoor flight.
- Land with charge to spare. Return to Home needs power to fly back, especially into a headwind.

Do I need a licence or registration to fly the DJI Avata 360 in India?
At about 455 g it is a micro drone. You must register it on DGCA's eGCA portal and get a UIN, and third-party insurance is required. A Remote Pilot Certificate is not needed for non-commercial flying, but it is for commercial work.
What does 360° capture give me?
You choose the framing after the flight instead of during it. One pass gives you several usable angles, including reframes and tiny-planet shots that a single-camera flight could not capture.
Is it really a 1-inch sensor?
DJI markets it as "1-inch" imaging. The spec sheet lists two 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors, 64 MP each, one for each lens.
How long does it fly?
About 23 minutes per battery, per DJI. Three batteries are included, so up to about 69 minutes per outing.
Does it have obstacle avoidance?
Yes. Per DJI, it has omnidirectional vision sensing, forward-facing LiDAR and a downward infrared sensor, plus integrated propeller guards.
Does the Avata 360 have a Manual (acro) mode?
DJI's spec sheet lists Cine, Normal and Sport modes, and no Manual mode. If you want full Manual (acro) flight, the Avata 2 supports it with the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, sold separately.
Are the files difficult to work with?
360° footage needs reframing in software before it becomes a normal video, which adds an editing step. Single-lens mode avoids that when you do not need the sphere.
Which should I buy, the Avata 360 or the Avata 2?
The Avata 360 if the footage is the goal and you want maximum flexibility in the edit, plus omnidirectional sensing. The Avata 2 if you want to fly fast, immersive FPV with goggles, and it costs less.
