Who the Avata 2 Fly More Combo is for
- Creators who want flowing, close-proximity FPV shots through gaps, along trails and around buildings
- Beginners to FPV who want goggles flying with motion control and one-tap Easy ACRO, then room to grow into Manual mode
- Pilots who want built-in propeller guards and a bigger sensor than the Neo 2
Choose something else if you want a lighter nano-class FPV drone with obstacle sensing (the DJI Neo 2 Motion Fly More Combo), 360° video (the DJI Avata 360 Motion Fly More Combo), or this is your first drone of any kind and you would rather learn on a standard camera drone first (the DJI Mini 4K Fly More Combo).
Is it legal to fly in India?
Yes, with the right paperwork. At about 377 g (per DJI), the DJI Avata 2 is a micro drone (more than 250 g, up to 2 kg) under India's Drone Rules, 2021:
- You must register it on the DGCA Digital Sky platform and get a Unique Identification Number (UIN) before flying.
- No Remote Pilot Certificate is needed for non-commercial use of a micro drone. For commercial work, you need one.
- Third-party insurance is required for drones heavier than the nano class.
- Before each flight, check the Digital Sky airspace map for green, yellow and red zones.
Rules can change, so check Digital Sky before you fly.
Flying tips for the DJI Avata 2
HobiTech's tips for your first flights (general good practice; always follow the DJI user manual):
- Fly with a spotter. With goggles on you cannot see the drone directly, so ask a friend to keep it in sight and warn you about people, trees and wires.
- Start in Normal mode. Stay low and slow in a big open space, then move to Sport mode and Easy ACRO once the motion controller feels natural.
- Remember there is no forward obstacle sensing. The Avata 2 only senses downward and backward, so the propeller guards and your own judgement do the work.
- Know Turtle mode. If the drone lands upside down, Turtle mode can flip it back over so you can take off again.
- Charge all three the night before. Charge the goggles and RC Motion 3 too, so everything is full when you head out.
- Update everything in DJI Fly. Update the drone, goggles and RC Motion 3 firmware at home before your first flight.
- Register and insure before you fly. This is a micro drone, so get the UIN on Digital Sky and arrange third-party insurance before your first outdoor flight.
- Land with charge to spare. Return to Home needs power to fly back, especially into a headwind.
- Take breaks from the goggles. Short sessions are easier on your eyes; each battery lasts about 23 minutes anyway.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of the DJI Avata 2 Fly More Combo in India?
At HobiTech it is ₹1,30,990 plus GST, with a GST invoice. It includes DJI Goggles 3, the DJI RC Motion 3, three batteries, a Two-Way Charging Hub and a DJI Sling Bag.
What's included in the DJI Avata 2 Fly More Combo (Three Batteries)?
Per DJI: the DJI Avata 2, DJI Goggles 3, the DJI RC Motion 3 with lanyard, three batteries, a Two-Way Charging Hub, a DJI Sling Bag, four pairs of propellers with 16 screws, a gimbal protector, −2.0D corrective lenses for the goggles, a USB-C OTG cable, a Type-C to Type-C PD cable and a screwdriver. A charger is not included.
Do I need a licence or registration to fly the DJI Avata 2 in India?
At about 377 g it is a micro drone. You must register it on Digital Sky and get a UIN, and third-party insurance is required. A Remote Pilot Certificate is not needed for non-commercial flying, but it is for commercial work.
Can I fly it with goggles on my own?
We recommend flying with a spotter. With goggles on you cannot see the drone directly, so a friend who keeps it in sight helps you avoid people, trees and wires.
Is it good for a first drone?
It is a good first FPV drone, thanks to motion control, Easy ACRO and the propeller guards. If you have never flown any drone, a standard camera drone such as the DJI Mini 4K is a more forgiving place to learn the basics.
Does the Avata 2 have a Manual (acro) mode?
Yes, but Manual mode needs the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, which is sold separately. The RC Motion 3 in this combo gives you Easy ACRO flips, rolls and drifts with one tap.
How long does it fly?
About 23 minutes per battery, per DJI. Three batteries are included, so up to about 69 minutes per outing, less if you fly hard.
How much wind can it take?
DJI rates the Avata 2 for wind up to 10.7 m/s (Level 5). The propeller guards catch air, so stay low and close on gusty days.
Does the Avata 2 have obstacle avoidance?
No forward or omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Per DJI, it has downward and backward visual positioning only. The built-in propeller guards protect the props in light contact.
What gimbal does the Avata 2 have?
A single-axis (tilt) mechanical gimbal, per DJI, with RockSteady 3.0+ and HorizonSteady electronic stabilisation keeping the horizon level.
How is it different from the Avata 360?
The Avata 2 is lighter (about 377 g against about 455 g) and costs less. The Avata 360 films 8K 360° video with two 1/1.1-inch sensors and adds omnidirectional sensing with forward LiDAR, per DJI.
What warranty does HobiTech give?
A 1-Year Premium Warranty from HobiTech, included free, on the DJI Avata 2 drone. It does not cover accessories (including the goggles, RC Motion 3 and charging hub) or accidental damage, which our repair lab can still fix. Claims go through our warranty form or +91 70225 26509.
