UgCS Mapper is SPH Engineering's lightweight desktop software for turning drone photos into 2D maps and elevation models, offline in the field. It is for survey crews who want to check coverage on site. HobiTech supplies UgCS Mapper licences in India.
Mapper is a processing tool, not a flight planner. It stitches georeferenced survey images into an orthophoto and builds elevation data in the field, so a crew can confirm coverage before packing up instead of finding a gap back at the office. It is separate software from the UgCS planning editions and works alongside them.

What is UgCS Mapper used for?
- Orthophoto stitching: build an orthomosaic from georeferenced JPG images, the standard output of DJI cameras.
- Elevation data: generate a DSM and elevation data from georeferenced JPG images, and create elevation profiles.
- Multispectral and NDVI: stitch 3-channel RGN JPEG images to generate NDVI indexes. SPH Engineering lists compatibility with the MicaSense RedEdge-M and RedEdge-MX.
- Video input: process video streams when used with UgCS ENTERPRISE.
- Offline field work: process without an internet connection to validate survey data quality before leaving the site.
SPH Engineering lists surveying and mapping, agriculture, mining and quarrying, solar energy, search and rescue, and construction as typical uses.
How does UgCS Mapper work with UgCS?
The workflow has 3 steps: fly the survey and collect georeferenced images or video, process them in UgCS Mapper, then export the result. Outputs are orthomosaic maps and DSM/elevation GeoTIFF files. A new map can be sent to UgCS in one click, and the DSM can be exported from Mapper into UgCS for planning the next flight, for example with terrain following in UgCS PRO or Smart AGL in UgCS EXPERT. The GeoTIFF files can also be opened in other GIS software.

- Activation: run UgCS Mapper and activate it with the licence code
To plan the flights that feed Mapper you need a UgCS planning licence: PRO, EXPERT or ENTERPRISE. For LiDAR data, use the LiDAR tools in EXPERT for planning and dedicated LiDAR software for processing, since Mapper does not process LiDAR.
