In the current times,where the drone tech have evolved a lot than in past 10 years but still, is used in only few sectors and areas of our country, India.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has called for more effective utilisation of drone applications and urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to deploy Drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for surveillance, situational analysis, crime control, VVIP security, disaster management, etc.

MoCA Notifies Liberalized Drone Rules,2021

The Secretary of MoCA, Rajiv Bansal, sent a note to few of the Indian Ministers,said drones offered tremendous benefits to almost every sector of the economy, including but not limited to, national defence, agriculture, law enforcement, and mapping, among others.

  • In the few areas, the drone tech is applied to good use such as in Sports Field to show up a huge area easily by the flying units.
  • In the defense sectors many flying units are brought to mainstream use to cover up the border areas to keep an eye on the enemy activities.
  • Since, drones can be used to many economic purposes but are not being used till date.
  • It can be made in use in the economic purposes which are not easy for human units to do like Deep Mining Area Inspection, Forest Inspection, Food and Medicine Supply to devastated remote areas, Smuggling and Security Checks in the border sites to stop illegal activities like animal trafficking, bombs, grenade, gun supplies and illegal entries of enemies and suicide bombers on India.

As a part  of  the  initiative, to make India one  of  the Drone hub  among the world and to make and produce drones in India,  Government  will  be rolling out the liberalised Drone Rules 2021.

These new liberalized Drone Rules 2021 are set to transform core sectors of the economy including logistics, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, surveillance, defence, law enforcement and will make India a global hub for drones by 2030.

The Government plans to invest and put efforts to the indian drone industry to produce Make in India drones as a part of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 20.9% between 2020 and 2026. The Civil Aviation Ministry estimates India’s UAV sector to achieve a total turnover of Rs.120-150 billion by 2026 where the current turnover is about Rs. 800 million.

The Indian Tech Market has the potential to make a face value in the Drone Tech among the global counties till 2030.
