DJI Flip Fly More Combo (DJI RC 2)
249 g drone with full-coverage propeller guards, a 1/1.3″ 48 MP camera, 4K/60 HDR video and palm takeoff.

249 g drone with full-coverage propeller guards, a 1/1.3″ 48 MP camera, 4K/60 HDR video and palm takeoff.
Both stay under 249 g and both carry a 1/1.3" sensor at f/1.7. The Flip wraps its propellers in full guards and adds palm takeoff; the Mini 4 Pro is faster, sees in every direction and folds smaller.

The guards are the whole argument. They make the Flip the drone you can hand to someone who has never flown, launch from your palm indoors, or fly around people without the anxiety that bare propellers bring. Nothing else in the sub-250 g range does that with this camera.
The Mini 4 Pro is the better aircraft in open air: omnidirectional sensing, more speed, longer endurance and a smaller folded footprint. If you fly outdoors in open country, it is the more capable choice for roughly the same money.
Choose the Flip if you fly close to people, indoors, or want something genuinely approachable. Choose the Mini 4 Pro if you fly landscapes.
At under 249 g takeoff weight, the Flip falls into DGCA’s Nano category (drones under 250 g) under the Drone Rules, 2021.
Nano-category drones flown for personal, non-commercial use are exempt from UIN registration on eGCA and do not require a Remote Pilot Certificate. Fly commercially and those exemptions fall away.
Registration exemption does not extend to airspace. Green, yellow and red zones still apply — roughly 90% of the country is green, yellow zones near airports need coordination, red zones are prohibited. Check DigitalSky before flying.
Propeller guards make the Flip safer around people, but they do not change the rules. Visual line of sight still applies, and flying directly over crowds is still not permitted regardless of how well protected the aircraft is.
Full-coverage propeller guards, built in rather than clipped on, and they fold with the aircraft. That changes where you can reasonably fly: indoors, in a garden, at a family event, close to people who have no idea what a drone does. It is a different kind of confidence from flying a bare-propeller aircraft.
Press once and it lifts from your hand; it returns to your palm the same way. No clear ground needed, no tripod, no finding a flat surface — useful on a beach, in long grass, or anywhere the ground is not cooperating.
The 1/1.3" 48 MP sensor at f/1.7 is the same class as the Mini 4 Pro’s — this is not a toy camera in a safe body. 4K up to 100fps, D-Log M for grading and DNG RAW stills mean footage that survives an edit.
31 minutes per battery, 28 hovering, with three batteries in the combo. Level 5 wind resistance, the same as the Minis, though the guards do catch a little more air.
Forward 3D infrared plus downward vision and infrared. Not omnidirectional — but with guards protecting the props, a light knock is far less consequential than it would be on an unguarded drone.
Flip aircraft, DJI RC 2 controller with built-in screen, three Intelligent Flight Batteries, parallel charging hub, dedicated shoulder bag, three sets of spare propellers, USB-C PD cable, gimbal protector and screwdriver.
The Fly More Combo with DJI RC 2 is ₹87,990 at Hobitech, down from ₹90,000. GST invoice and warranty included.
Not for personal use. Under 249 g it is Nano category, exempt from UIN registration and from needing a Remote Pilot Certificate.
Yes, and it is one of the few drones genuinely suited to it. Full propeller guards and palm takeoff make indoor flight practical. Give yourself room and fly slowly — GPS is weak or unavailable indoors.
Safer than an unguarded drone, which is the point of the design. It is not licence to fly over crowds, which remains against the rules regardless of guards.
The same 1/1.3" 48 MP sensor at f/1.7. The Mini 4 Pro adds HDR at 4K/60 and omnidirectional sensing; the Flip counters with guards and palm launch.
31 minutes per battery, 28 hovering. Three batteries are included.
Forward 3D infrared and downward sensing. No side or rear sensing.
Anyone who wants a capable camera drone they can fly close to people and indoors — families, content creators shooting in tight spaces, and first-time pilots who want a wide margin for error.
