Geometrics MagArrow Mk2 magnetometer
Self-contained cesium total-field magnetometer with onboard GPS, storage and Wi-Fi — no data connection to the UAV needed.
The MagArrow II is the second generation of Geometrics' best-selling magnetometer — a fully self-contained sensor with built-in GPS receiver, data recorder and battery, usable with any UAV able to carry 1 kg. To minimize motor and electronics noise, SPH Engineering recommends 3 m suspension ropes on larger platforms such as the Inspired Flight IF1200A, or extension poles on smaller drones like the DJI M350/M300 RTK.
An alternative is to mount the MagArrow directly on the drone's legs and remove motor noise with a low-pass filter during post-processing — a good approach for UXO search, though suspension ropes are preferable for archaeology or geology work that needs to register weak or long anomalies.
